Tellem.ai Service Alerts — SMS Terms & Consent

Tellem.ai LLC operates Tellem.ai Service Alerts, an informational SMS program for scheduled service appointments. Messages are sent through a Tellem-controlled toll-free number and identify the service business associated with the appointment for context. Participating service businesses provide factual appointment information and present Tellem’s approved consent request. Tellem controls the consent standard, standardized message templates, sending rules, HELP and STOP processing, and suppression records.

How consent is obtained

Before receiving SMS messages, you were told why a service business wanted to text you — before it asked for your mobile number — and giving your number afterward was the consent event. There is no separate yes/no question. If your number was already on file with the business before this consent process existed, you were instead told one sentence about it at your next contact with that business.

Providing your mobile number without that purpose statement, or merely booking an appointment, purchasing or receiving service, or accepting general terms, does not by itself enroll you in Tellem.ai Service Alerts. SMS consent is separate and optional and is not a condition of purchase or service.

Verbal consent

When a representative states the purpose before collecting your number, on a new appointment, they use this wording:

“Tellem.ai LLC would like to send you informational text updates through Tellem.ai Service Alerts about your appointment with [Business Name], including confirmations, arrival times, ETA updates, delays, and completion notices. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not required to purchase or receive service.”

For a number already on file before this consent process existed, the representative instead delivers this one-sentence notice at the next contact with you:

“Tellem.ai LLC will start sending you informational text updates through Tellem.ai Service Alerts about your appointments with [Business Name], including confirmations, arrival times, ETA updates, delays, and completion notices, at this number going forward. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not required to purchase or receive service, and you can stop these messages at any time.”

The representative records what happened directly in Tellem.

Imported contacts

Tellem does not send SMS messages to imported contacts based solely on the presence of a telephone number or a prior general agreement to receive service communications. An imported number is stored as “notice pending” — not consent — and stays un-texted until the service business delivers the continuing-updates notice above and confirms it in Tellem.

What messages look like

Messages are standardized templates controlled by Tellem. Each carries the program name, the service business associated with your appointment for context, and STOP/HELP instructions.

How to get help or opt out

Reply STOP to any Tellem.ai Service Alerts message to stop all SMS messages from the toll-free number that sent the message. Tellem also maintains an internal suppression record to prevent further message attempts from that number. To resume messages, complete a supported opt-in process.

To stop messages associated with a particular service business without requesting a program-wide toll-free-number opt-out, contact Tellem at support@tellem.ai or (845) 377-6588, or contact the applicable service business.

How Tellem records consent

For each recipient, Tellem maintains an individual consent record containing the mobile number, associated service business, appointment reference, consent method, date and time, exact disclosure version, source, affirmative response, and representative audit information. Tellem also maintains opt-out, suppression, HELP, and messaging-compliance records.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Mobile information and consent records are not sold, rented, or used for marketing or promotional purposes.

How verbal consent is collected and recorded

An enrollment confirmation is sent immediately after a new verbal consent record is created and before Tellem sends appointment messages under that consent. Consent is captured once per recipient per participating service business and covers their future appointments with that business until they reply STOP, so a returning customer is not asked to opt in again and receives no second confirmation.

The complete verbal opt-in process — both wordings in context, representative instructions, a representative conversation, how each capture is recorded, the fields stored on each consent record, and the enrollment confirmation — is documented on the verbal consent evidence page.
